| Some schools have started including a teacher stipend same as they would for coaching a sport or band. This is something to be addressed locally. How a team is sponsored/paid for is left to the local team. Teams have been self supporting (each child/family paying), they have been school supported, PTO/PTA supported, supported by the after-school program, or found local supporters in their community. Also check with the children to see who has a MindStorm kit and if they would share it for the duration of the season. Many local foundations have been generous to teams seeking support as well. Don't let $600 stop a team from forming, this is less expensive that almost any other after-school program and has one of the highest contact hours per child of any voluntary academic program.
