The Power Puzzle season has been officially kicked off by FIRST!  On September 5th
the Robot Game (Missions) and the Project were announced.  You can now go to the
www.firstlegoleague.org website to see both.  Just select "United States" and then
select "2007 Challenge" and you will be looking at the main screen.

The
Southern Maine Tournament is now set!  It will be at the Bonnie Eagle High
School in Standish, Maine.  The Tournament will be
December 1st.

The
Northern Maine Tournament has been set!  It will be at the Maine Maritime
Academy on
December 9th (its a Sunday, we know).  We have always been hosted
marvelously by MMA and scheduling only allows us so many choices.

REGISTRATION:
Cost per team:  $100 ($150 if received after 11/9)
All teams must be from Maine.
All teams must be registered nationally with FIRST.
Process:  You must register by October 26th and pay your registration fee by
November 9th.  Forms and payment link are on our MR Order Page.

ALL TEAMS will have space at the tournaments, as long as you don't ALL go to the
same one.

There are 40 teams registered Nationally, so the two tournaments will likely be in the
15-25 team range (each).

The Official release for the POWER PUZZLE challenge was September 5th!  So tune
in to the
www.firstlegoleague.org website for challenge information!

There are a lot of delivery and retrieval missions this year so get to work on that!
Biofuels, alternative energy vehicles, recycling, oil power, coal power, nuclear power,
solar power, wind power, hydroelectric power...  There is something for everyone.

And the Project this year is to do an energy audit of a local building.  What is being
done now?  What are some problems?  What could be done differently?  And you
have to go back to the owners (of the building) and explain what you found and what
recommendations you would make.  FIRST alternates between a "global" objective
and a "local" objective.  This year is a definite local project year, but with definite
global impact!
