Introduction to RoboLab Investigator:
One day course that introduces how to use the data-collecting abilities of the
MindStorm RCX and the software for use in Science studies.  Use of temperature,
light, and rotational sensors are demonstrated to give teachers the ability to use this
powerful tool within the classroom and school environment for data-collection.
Previous experience with MindStorms and RoboLab is required.
Participants must
bring a laptop loaded with RoboLab and an IR tower to particpate
.  All other
hardware is supplied.  Lunch is provided.

depth training and lab work with more advanced programming concepts.  These
concepts include using loops, conditional statements, setting up variables, and
building more complex programs for the robots.  In general it is also a chance to
build or refine robots previously build by participants.

FIRST LEGO League Support Services:
In the past these services have been subsidized by support from a National Science
Foundation grant.  At this time that support is no longer available and Maine
Robotics provides this service on a fee-for-service basis.

The Works:
We work with a team/coach from the start to the finish for the season.  Handle
registration to both the national and state programs, order necessary equipment
(included), provide the "Getting a team started" session at your school, and provide
"Season support".
Cost:  $1100 per team (includes $250 of registration fees and $350 of equipment
charges)

Getting a team started:
We come to your school or location (some restrictions with regard to travel may
apply) meet with your team, make sure they are comfortable with both the equipment
and the programming.  Work with the coach/teacher during the visit and make sure
they know what their goals for the season are (to have fun, get the kids to have fun,
and learn a lot!).
Cost:  $400 for up to a 5 hour on-site program
CEU's for adults available

Season support:
Provide a team/coach with e-mail and phone support throughout the season.
Provide technical support and sample programs as well as a monthly newsletter to all
the teams signed up for this Maine Robotics service.
Cost:  $100 per team or coach.

NOTE:  All workshops and on-site trainings require that we use a computer lab or
similar space at the site.  All other equipment is provided.  For large groups it may be
desirable to use local MindStorms kits if available.  Please discuss this with Maine
Robotics if you have any questions.
