The FLL Season is off to a great start. We've got 59 teams registered to date and we're expecting to see around 70-80 teams enrolled for the 2012 season. National registration is open until the end of the month, so don't delay getting registered. Visit our FLL website to find our more or the National website to register a team! And don't forget the ROOKIE STARTUP GRANTS from Time Warner Cable! A great way to help pay for your first year.

We have added a workshop on October 1st at the Pembroke Elementary School on Route 1 in Washington County. Thanks to Pembroke Elementary for bringing us back to the county. Visit our workshop website for more information and to register.
Don't forget, our workshop season starts TOMORROW with our workshop in FALMOUTH. It's not too late to register, just visit the link above. Once again Time Warner Cable has generously donated $4,500 to help rookie teams in Maine get their feet on the ground. Thank you again Time Warner Cable! This grant is only available for new teams or teams that did not participate in the FLL in 2011 or 2010. If your team is interested in applying for this grant then apply quickly. You may apply online HERE. New Teams can get up to $300 for equipment and/or registration (both national and state) depending upon what is needed and how many applicants there are. Teams must commit to attending the FIRST® LEGO® League Championship on December 8th at the Augusta Civic Center. The deadline for National Registration is at the end of the month, so do not wait. If you have questions please feel free to email us or call us at our office, (207)866-4340, during normal business hours. This offer is only for teams residing in Maine. To learn more about the FIRST® LEGO® League please visit the Maine Robotics FLL page or the International FLL page. If you don't know about the FIRST(r) LEGO(r) League, isn't it time you did? FIRST has released the details of the 2012 Senior Solutions Challenge. We already have 22 teams signed up in Maine and we are figuring we'll have 70 or 80 teams when all is said and done. This program ties together all the benefits of a science fair, and all the energy of a basketball tournament. Check out more information on the FIRST website! The program is open to children ages 9 to 14 (9 by the December Championship and not older than 14 on 1/1/2012). If you are new, don't forget we run workshops to help you get ready for this, check out the workshop page for more information.
